The History of Kekcroc

It all started in 2017, but the development didn't start until 2018.

Being fascinated with the Kekcroc's urban legend i was wondering:

"How the game would look like if it was real?", so i fired up Multimedia Fusion 2 and started tinkering.
On May 1st, 2018 i uploaded my very first video about the "game", showing off the intro, main menu and the first cutscene.

Around 2019, GenesisJam (formerly known as James' Blast Past Plaza) joined me in this journey.
Around March, i've lost the original MFA file for Kekcroc, where i had the test level,
which means i had to redo everything from scratch (menus, the map screen, platforming engine, etc.).
In the process, i switched from Multimedia Fusion 2 to Clickteam Fusion 2.5.

On July 14, 2019 i released the first demo of the game, containing only the first world - Reptile Isle.

In 2020 and 2021 progress became quite slow,
mostly due to 2020's events and real-life stuff (and high school final exams in 2021)

In January 2022, Gold Rock Inc joined us on this journey.
Throughout 2022, i've shown off some nuances that would be added to the game for the "First 3 worlds" build,
along with a sneak peek for the next 2 worlds (Taffy Tides and Toasty's Castle).
These nuances include (but not limited to):
A password system, Xbox controller support, Mode7-styled bonus stages, Sound Test, etc.

On January 27, 2023 i released the "Toasty's Castle" build of the game, containing the 5 out of 8 worlds:
Reptile Isle, Bubble Bayou, Miracle Mountains, Taffy Tides, and of course - Toasty's Castle,

On December 27th 2023, the full Kekcroc game has been released after playtesting and finishing touches.
